Having Your Documentary Video Project Produced by The Heritage Society
The Heritage Society (THS) works with other non-profits, organizations and longtime businesses to create and produce broadcast quality video to document the client's history, place in the Greater Houston community and distinct identity. The videos utilize interviews with a variety of key people, period and historic photographs, maps and images, period music and professional voice over to create a product that is informative, nostalgic and compelling. Most importantly they would help add additional layers to the organization’s brand. The completed documentary product and any shorter version that might be created from it would be appropriate for both website and in-person sales, marketing and outreach presentations. It would present a cohesive story of your past, ending with a nod toward the future.
THS will shoot all the interviews needed and suggested by the client. We have our own equipment, and can add more gear and personnel if the situation demands it. We understand that some interviews may be shot primarily for archival purposes, but all of them will be done with the same broadcast quality in case they are needed for future projects.
The Heritage Society is an award winning producer of documentary film work. All of the video professionals who will be working on your project have decades of experience in broadcast television and film industry work. We are also unique in that the producer of the project is a professional historian and a member of the Harris County Historical Commission. The production team at THS has produced seven feature length documentaries including some that have aired on multiple PBS stations in Texas. They also produced almost 50 installments of the popular HAM Slices of History that run on Houston’s Channel 8 and 40 episodes of the weekly regional history show, Postcards from Texas. THS has received multiple national and statewide awards for our work in history programming. No other production company in Texas can offer this type of combination for your history video projects.
Even with all of this expertise, the cost will be lower working with The Heritage Society than with commercial production houses because we are a non-profit organization whose mission is to create just this type of history programming. In many cases, portions of the subjects included have already been partially researched for other THS projects, and in some cases, historic still images are already in the THS library.
At the completion of this project, all raw footage and finished video would be stored on an external hard drive that would be paid for by the client and turned over to the client at the completion of the project.
Every step of the way, The Heritage Society production team will be working with an eye toward creating the best quality and most versatile end product for you.
