Collection Donations
Thank you for your interest in donating your historical materials to The Heritage Society. Every year, new materials are added to the collection through the generosity of individuals and organizations. These donations help The Heritage Society fulfill its mission to tell Houston stories. As a non-profit 501(c)(3), donations to THS are tax deductible.
Criteria used to evaluate each donation
THS seeks to acquire authentic objects, archival materials, artworks and photographs that have strong potential for meaningful future use in exhibitions, programs, and for research; that fill gaps in our existing holdings; and that present opportunities to reveal or expand upon a significant story or theme of Houston history as outlined in the Collecting Scope. Also considered are the item’s provenance, its condition, the resources needed to care for and store the item, and the potential for the item to be a better fit for another repository.
