On Saturday, October 2, THS members are invited to enjoy the Cantina on Connally Plaza honoring the generous Donors who made the mural Mexican-American History & Culture in 20th Century Houston possible.
Mural artists Laura López Cano and Jesse Sifuentes, along with key fundraisers and government officials, celebrated the unveiling to Houstonians three years ago. Since then, the generous Donors have been added to the mural.
El Tiempo Cantina and the Zenteno Spirit band are our speakers and sponsors. We will spotlight the Zenteno and Laurenzo generations who shaped Houston’s lifestyle pastimes.
Enjoy music, appetizers, drinks, and a film. The Tearoom will be transformed into a Teatro for a showing of the documentary film of the Zenteno family to benefit Barrio Dogs.
This member event that also celebrates National Hispanic Heritage Month is from 4 to 6 PM and is located at 1100 Bagby Street. R.S.V.P. to lwoods@heritagesociety.org.
At 7 PM, Houston History Bus Tours to EaDo from Mister McKinney are available for those who want to continue the fiesta (open to the public). Tickets available here.
