A Look at Woman Suffrage: A Century of Struggle
By Betty Chapman

Tune in on August 20th for a lecture about national and local Suffragists battling barriers to win the right to vote, delivered by Betty Chapman, exhibit co-chair and local historian.

Betty Chapman has been researching and writing about Houston history for 25 years. She has authored six books and is currently working on a biography of an early Houston suffragist. Chapman has taught courses in continuing studies throughout the city, including at Rice University. A staunch preservationist, she is a former chair of the Houston Archaeological and Historical Commission and has been a member of The Heritage Society and served in many positions for over 30 years.
