Young Houstonians Tequila Tasting & Double Decker Bus Tour

$40 per person in advance, $45 per person at the door (limited availability)

GET ON BOARD The Heritage Society's Young Houstonians Tequila Tasting & Double Decker Bus Tour! To celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month, Saturday’s event will begin with an educational tequila tasting from four of Milagro Tequila's finest brands paired with food from the award-winning Chef Arnoldo Richards & Monica Richards of Pico’s Mex-Mex. The tequila tasting and food pairing will be followed by a 90 minute double decker bus tour showcasing landmarks and stories within Houston's rich Latino community. The bus tour is curated by KHOU Channel 11's Great Day Houston resident historian R.W. "Randy" McKinney, and will tell the stories about the original ethnic group that occupied Houston’s East End before it was known for its Hispanic roots. Guests will hear the story behind the FIRST Latino/Spanish speaking radio station in the South; the John F. Kennedy, Howard Hughes and John Henry Kirby connections; and stories about the local leaders that fought to have a voice for their community and culture. The tequila tasting and food pairing will be in The Heritage Society’s Tea Room. The double decker bus tour will begin and end at The Heritage Society. Guests are welcome to BYOB for the bus tour. All guests must be 21 years of age or older to participate.
